I discovered wholistic therapies 16 years ago during the process of repairing my body and mind after a serious illness while traveling overseas and severe reaction to prescribed medication that treated it. Conventional medicine was able to get me out of the woods, but offered little to truly heal and restore my energy.
On my return home I began practicing yoga and studied Ayurvedic philosophy, massage, shiatsu and reflexology which introduced me to the eastern perspective of health as not just absence of illness but presence of vitality, and through these various approaches I regained my health and a new perspective on life. This led me to being able to run a successful Remedial Massage practice and teach Yoga in Adelaide. I continued to study physical, mental, emotional and energetic techniques, including yoga and meditation with an Indian Yoga Master for 12 years. To balance this I explored aspects of western psychology which I found particularly helpful to my meditation practice, allowing me to observe the patterns and conditioning of my mind. I was guided to the teachings and methods I needed according to challenges that were presenting themselves in my own life and have been influenced by various teachers and their energetic and emotional techniques. In addition to completing my Remedial Massage and allied modalities training I have also incorporated the following approaches to body mind wellbeing including:
What I offer to clients are techniques that I have found most effective in my personal process and come from a place of genuine intention for wholeness, this means accepting and integrating the full range of human experiences and emotions, freeing up energy invested in suppression and trying to avoid uncomfortable, painful, experiences, or judging ourselves harshly when we encounter failure. My person feeling is that this is the best ‘environmental’ contribution we can make to the planet - to clean up our own inner environment! From a place of curiosity and compassion, to realize and live our true worth on all levels. |
